Why does the time change? wouldn't it be simplier to stay the same all year long?..........

Besides, think about it.... if it would stay daylight longer, then people would turn their lights on later & it would save tons of energy all over the country. agree? thanks for answers.

Some countries actually don't play with their time, as well as some cultures. Did you know that Arizona does not play around with their clocks, if I am not mistaken? It remains the same time all year round.

It was only until 1876 that a man named Sir Sandford Fleming came up with the notion that there be "Time Zones" for the entire world. Before this time, however, each city went by the literal sundial.

The people for the railroads had problems when going from east to west or vice versa. This is because if you start in the east at 10 AM and set your old pocket watch by that city's sundial, when you move west you can see it is taking you about 1 hour to get there. Yet, the time in the western city just turned 10 AM according to their sundial. Where the man's pocket watch read 11 AM.

Everyone is still linked to the sundial, because the light of the day obviously comes from the sun.

The determining of when the day starts is something else, however. Americans, the British and other "white" cultures are linked to the ancient Romans, then the "Holy Roman Empire," through the Catholics that kept observing what the Romans did. From the "B.C" days to the medieval times the Romans used the Julius Calendar. In this calendar the new 24 hours started the direct opposite of "perfect/exact" noon according to the sundial. After some time [when the Catholics started the rule in the Roman Empire], however, a man by the name of Gregory, the head of the Catholic Church was persuaded by some monks to change the current date of their calendar, this was in 1582. This is because at that time they used to say "so and so 'of the year of our Lord'" Meaning: from the year that Yehoshua hamoshiach was born [Hebrew for: Jesus the moshiach/messiah]. I am Jewish. Thus, Gregory added 11 whole days to the Julius calendar because this is what they thought how many days they were off from the actual day of Jesus death, thus being their motive as in to "why?" it came up in the first place. For his death determined his birth when looking at the scriptures in an archeological fashion.

What I find amazing about all of this is, here are these people claiming to be "followers of Jesus the Jew," yet they are so anti-semetic that they have nothing to do with him, nor his culture, nor his religion - which was Judaism. These Romans or "Gentiles," would not have this problem if they kept the calendar that Jesus observed, which was the Jewish calendar. Which by the way is NOT the modern Jewish calendar.

For in the Jewish Calendar, the modern Muslim calendar, the ancient Assyrian Calendar, as well as the ancient Babylonian calendar, we all determined the new 24 hour period when the day was finished. Meaning, right at sundown. This is because, when the God of Israel created all things He did so while there was still only darkness, then only afterward - after a few hours - namely 12 hours, He caused the 'light' to exist, as in "Cause light exist ['let there be light']."

Therefore, the Catholics, if they would have literally kept the same calendar that Jesus kept, the biblical Jewish calendar, they wouldn't have had the problems of losing track to understand what year Jesus was truly born in or what day that he died on. For in the Jewish calendar, this anniversary of his death always falls on the same day, being the 14th of Aviv. Being 1/14/4206 of the biblical calendar or 4/2/0033 of the Gregorian Calendar.

With that being said, if they would have observed this calendar, the world would be observing this calendar, not the "Gregorian" calendar which is an off shoot of the heathenistic Roman Calendar or Julius Calendar.
