Is using medicine, vitamins or herbs for healing or for preventive measures,
in order to keep you 'healthy' really sorcery according to the Lord?
Well, to put it frankly, YES it is. But let's not just take my word for it, let's take the Living
Words of the Torah for this fact; which is not opinion, but truth.
First of all, we must establish why people get sick in the first place, or why they might have a sickness, or they might have a whole host of other problems in their lives. These problems could range from bugs eating your garden, to losing an arm or a leg, to blindness, or a cold, or the flu, or a sickness ending in death. Someone might even experience sudden death out of the blue instead of having a long, and prosperous life, (which does not necessarily mean a wealthy one, as some false preachers think).
Now, I will explain what I meant by "first of all we must establish why people get sick in the first place". I must say that regardless of what atheists, non-believers and polytheistic believers believe and preach, there is just One God and He is "The Ancient of Days." To say His Name in Hebrew is {Awe-teek Yo-my-yah} "Attek Yomyyah." This name for the Eternal God is found in Daniel 7. He also goes by another name which is YHWH or "Yehowah". (The unlearned pronounce this name as "Yahwah", which is incorrect.).
Now because there is just one God and He does actually exist, regardless of what people say, we are "under His thumb", sort-of-to-speak. Why? Well, because no one is greater than Him; therefore, no one can conquer Him. This makes the Father King over all. Moreover, because of His Awesome power, the laws and rules He sets in place are established forever, and when someone separates himself or herself from what He rules is right or what He wants you to do, whether ignorantly or by being knowledgeable about it, you will pay the consequences for those actions. Those consequences will only be determined by His fair and just judgements. So, if you do not know what the rule book is you will always be defeated in some way.
Judgments are based on actions, and some judgments are harsher than others, but the actions that one does to deserve them is greater as well. Thus, some actions of yours will determine your death by His rules and others will just determine your health, or mental state, or success in activities or life.
So, what did the messengers (called prophets or seers) of this Wonderful and Mighty God say from Him to us? Well, let us read their words in Deuteronomy 28, for instance:
15 if you do not obey the LORD your God and do
not carefully follow all His commands and decrees I
am giving you today, all these curses will come upon
you and overtake you:
16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the
country.
17 Your basket and your kneading trough will be
cursed.
18 The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the
crops of your land, and the calves of your herds
and the lambs of your flocks.
19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed
when you go out.
20 The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and
rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you
are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of
the evil you have done in forsaking him.
21 The LORD will plague you with diseases until
He has destroyed you from the land you are
entering to possess.
22 The LORD will strike you with wasting
disease, with fever and inflammation, with
scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew,
which will plague you until you perish.
23 The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground
beneath you iron.
24 The LORD will turn the rain of your country into
dust and powder; it will come down from the skies
until you are destroyed.
25 The LORD will cause you to be defeated before
your enemies. You will come at them from one
direction but flee from them in seven, and you will
become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms on
earth.
26 Your carcasses will be food for all the birds of the
air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no
one to frighten them away.
27 The LORD will afflict you with the boils of
Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and
the itch, from which you cannot be cured.
28 The LORD will afflict you with madness,
blindness and confusion of mind.
29 At midday you will grope about like a blind man
in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything
you do; day after day you will be oppressed
and robbed, with no one to rescue you.
30 You will be pledged to be married to a woman,
but another will take her and ravish her. You will
build a house, but you will not live in it. You will
plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to
enjoy its fruit.
31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but
you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly
taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep
will be given to your enemies, and no one will
rescue them.
32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another
nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching
for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.
33 A people that you do not know will eat what your
land and labor produce, and you will have nothing
but cruel oppression all your days.
34 The sights you see will drive you mad.
35 The LORD will afflict your knees and legs with
painful boils that be cured, spreading from the
soles of your feet to the top of your head.
36 The LORD will drive you and the king you set over
you to a nation unknown to you or your fathers.
There you will worship other gods, gods of wood
and stone.
37 You will become a thing of horror and an object of
scorn and ridicule to all the nations where the LORD
will drive you.
38 You will sow much seed in the field but you will
harvest little, because locusts will devour it.
39 You will plant vineyards and cultivate them but you
will not drink the wine or gather the grapes, because
worms will eat them.
40 You will have olive trees throughout your country
but you will not use the oil, because the olives will
drop off.
41 You will have sons and daughters but you will not
keep them, because they will go into captivity.
42 Swarms of locusts will take over all your trees and
the crops of your land.
43 The alien who lives among you will rise above you
higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower.
44 He will lend to you, but you will not lend to him. He
will be the head, but you will be the tail.
45 All these curses will come upon you. They will
pursue you and overtake you until you are
destroyed, because you did not obey the LORD
your God and observe the commands and
decrees He gave you.
46 They will be a sign and a wonder to you and your
descendants forever.
47 Because you did not serve the LORD your God
joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity,
48 therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire
poverty, you will serve the enemies the LORD sends
against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck
until he has destroyed you.
49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from far
away, from the ends of the earth, like an eagle
swooping down, a nation whose language you will
not understand,
50 a fierce-looking nation without respect for the old
or pity for the young.
51 They will devour the young of your livestock and the
crops of your land until you are destroyed. They will
leave you no grain, new wine or oil, nor any calves
of your herds or lambs of your flocks until you are
ruined.
52 They will lay siege to all the cities throughout your
land until the high fortified walls in which you trust
fall down. They will besiege all the cities throughout
the land the LORD your God is giving you.
53 Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on
you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb,
the flesh of the sons and daughters the LORD your
God has given you.
54 Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you
will have no compassion on his own brother or the
wife he loves or his surviving children,
55 and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of
his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left
because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you
during the siege of all your cities.
56 The most gentle and sensitive woman among you—so
sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to
touch the ground with he sole of her foot—will
begrudge the husband she loves and her own son
or daughter
57 the afterbirth from her womb and the children she
bears. For she intends to eat them secretly during
the siege and in the distress that your enemy will
inflict on you in your cities.
58 If you do not carefully follow all the words of this
law, which are written in this book, and do not revere
this glorious and awesome name—the LORD
your God-
59 the LORD will send fearful plagues on you and your
descendants, harsh and prolonged disasters, and
severe and lingering illnesses.
60 He will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt
that you dreaded, and they will cling to you.
61 The LORD will also bring on you every kind of
sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book
of the Law, until you are destroyed.
62 You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky
will be left but few in number, because you did not
obey the LORD your God.
63 Just as it pleased the LORD to make you prosper
and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin
and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the
land you are entering to possess.
64 Then the LORD will scatter you among all nations,
from one end of the earth to the other. There you
will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone,
which neither you nor your fathers have known.
65 Among those nations you will find no repose, no
resting place for the sole of your foot. There the
LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary
with longing, and a despairing heart.
66 You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread
both night and day, never sure of your life.
67 In the morning you will say, "If only it were
evening!" and in the evening, "If only it were
morning!"-because of the terror that will fill your
hearts and the sights that your eyes will see.
68 The LORD will send you back in ships to Egypt
on a journey I said you should never make again.
There you will offer yourselves for sale to your
enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will
buy you.
In case you don't realize all of these things that have just been said in this chapter of Deuteronomy, this is the very reason the great flood in Noah's time occurred and why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. This is because the LORD never changes, despite the fact that the Law was reintroduced on Mount Sinai. This was necessary because the people forgot it after living in Egypt for such a long time. For this reason, this is why the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed twice and now a wicked mosque stands in its place. This is also why the holocaust occurred, and why the December 2004 tsunami occurred that killed 240,000 pagan Muslims and other evil doers. This is why "Katrina" occurred, and why 97,000 people die each year in the USA by the so-called "flu" and ....
Can you now see why your problems exist? Do you see why you are sick and defeated? It is solely because you are sinning against the Lord by not keeping all of His commandments. These commandments consists of a list of over 2000 requirements, not just 10, nor just the two greatest ones. The fact of the matter is that the two greatest commands are mere summation commands. Meaning that it is impossible to fulfill them, unless the other 2000+ commands are being done consistently and constantly.
Now, when it comes to medicine, (whether that be the ancient form which is just herbs, or what they have now which are man-made chemicals), for your situation, it will not cure the actual source of the problem, which is your sin. In fact, this conduct is evil according to the Lord of the Torah. Why? Well, not only are you never converting from your sin so that true healing can come to you, but you are not putting your faith in the Lord to heal you, but rather in a potion of some sort; thus, also mocking the Lord in your actions by saying "you are not powerful enough to heal me, but mankind is." On another note, off the subject, all chemicals are unkosher. Thus, when you continue in your sin and then add to it by not going strictly to the LORD or His prophets for healing, you sin even more. Furthermore, you commit sorcery by trying to push off the hand of the LORD whom is cursing you because of your rebellion against Him by going through with some routine of swallowing something with the motive and notion that whatever you are taking will heal you from His hand of wrath. For as I said, there IS a God in Heaven and His rules determine everything.
Now as far as commandments go..........
Deuteronomy 18:9-12 says this:
9 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate
the detestable ways of the nations there.
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who
practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,
11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.
12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because
of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those
nations before you.
13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.
Therefore, when someone uses anything for healing, that person has the notion that item or thing will perform something for them, namely to cure their health. Thus, making it witchcraft or sorcery. Why? Because that is putting faith in something, other than strictly putting 100% faith in the Lord. This does not include "50/50", as in to say, "the Lord made doctors." For according to the Torah He does not make what He condemns, thus it is outright evil to say and believe such. Faith must never be in creation, or in mankind, or in worldly knowledge. Especially when the reason for your illness, sickness or curse is solely based on your disobedience to the Lord, (disobedience of over 2000 commands), or lack of real truth regarding the Lord, (like the false and demonic doctrine called 'the trinity', or also that you are 'saved by grace'). Now, when sinners lack knowledge they go to other sinners that dabble in herbs and potions instead of going to a prophet like me to hear what they need to hear, and so convert, and then they could be healed either step by step as they convert step by step, or instantaneously by me laying hands on them. For the Lord can do anything though His prophets, for they are real prophets.
Remember, it was not by food, exercise, nor medicine that raised the dead, cured the leprous people, cast out the demons and cured the blind, deaf and maimed, rather it was faith in the Lord through His prophets, even me - Maregaal and also Jesus, who is not and was not, nor shall ever be "God."
Maregaal
P.S. #1 I hear so many people that are just absolutely oblivious, or void of the truth when it comes to plants, food, herbs or spices in the Torah. This encompasses a wide range of people, from the occultish folks called "Seventh Day Adventists" and "Pentecostals" with their home remedies through spices or herbs, to also including local radio hosts of 950 AM of Fort Smith where I live and the guests they have on, to popular preachers on TV, and those that make books such as "the Maker's Diet." They constantly take out of context Genesis 1:29 that says, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."
SDAs and others interpret this as though HaShem meant for all people to be vegetarians right from the beginning.
Did He, O unlearned person?
While others see the little word "food" there as something that it is not, like "for your health or well being"; which it is not.
If the Lord wanted us to be vegetarians for some purpose, did He forget His very own command when He said to slay and eat the Passover lamb or goat? No. Rather these people have never been taught the truth.
The truth is this: Do you notice that in Genesis 1:28 the Torah says, "Be fruitful and increase in number." Why does it say this; or, do you see what this commandment means? It means that there is only one pair of humans on earth at that time, this only being Adam and Eve. Now notice that He says the same thing to animals prior to mankind being around in Genesis 1:22, "God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." Thus, also meaning there was just one pair of every kind of creature that HaShem made. Don't you now see the truth why the Lord commanded that all the living eat only plant food for the time being? In case you are so slow to figure it out, here is the truth. If mankind or a bird of prey or a preying animal were to eat an animal and there were only one pair of each at the very beginning, that particular specie would go extinct if just half of one of those pairs would be killed off. Got it? Therefore, they were commanded to eat plant life until the animal population would increase. This is why Adam and Eve did not transgress when they offered up a sin offering after they sinned, for this is the sacrifice where HaShem made the garments of skin for them, because by that time the animals were increased enough. This is also why Abel did not get in trouble when he offered up a kosher animal burnt offering, because we see that by his time there were plenty of the same kind of animals from the group of species he offered up, for he was a shepherd of them. Now you know the truth. I hope!
NOW HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM A LETTER I GAVE TWO PEOPLE:
On an entirely separate note:
Let's discuss a subject that we have not mentioned so far, though you read it in my initial letter to you. In that initial letter, "The truth concerning sin, and what the true path of salvation is, and a confrontation to those that teach falsehoods about these matters in the name of the Lord", I write, "Here are just 43 things that this Society allows, but Heaven doesn't...
...4. Medicine." I will insert this study to you because you condone the practices of that wicked man, Lon ??????; yet, claiming to have a show that is "talk radio for Christ-ians" vs. for Greek-Roman people or for un-believers. I will explain this in an insert from an e-mail I am sending off to a person that condones medicine, herbal medicine, and holistic medicine; though the Tanach and the writings of the apostles don't, I reveal to her the truth. With this you too will see the truth. I am mentioning this because this is my last letter and to show you what your sins are so that you can turn from them and start doing what is right in the Lord's eyes.
Here is the letter:
**********************************************************************************************************************
As far as medicine and 'sorcery' goes:
Ma'am, I do not care what the 'The New King James Version' has, nor do I care what 'most translations have.' Where do you think "pharmacy" comes from? You need to do some history lessons before you assume medicine is Okay to use.
In the writings of the early church, they condemned the use of medicine. If you knew of these things you would not speak of it.
James says,
14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
What a perfect place to insert a reference to go to the physicians! Yet, it is not there.
Don't you realize that one of the main reasons Jesus was gripping at the people in his home town of Nazareth dealt with this issue and not just merely because of their lack of faith in and of itself? He tells the people that there were many leprous people within the borders of Israel in the days of Elisha the prophet; yet, not a single person visited him, despite all the miracles he did. Yet, a foreigner named Naaman came and visited him. At first, he did not accept the prophet's words based on his expectations of the prophet; yet, his friend rebuked him so he eventually dipped himself in the water. When he finally did, he was made whole. At that he came back to the prophet and repented before him; since the prophet talked with the God of Israel. With that the prophet told him to go in peace, meaning he was forgiven. For if you have knowledge of what the God of Israel can do, yet go to a man that dispenses some sort of remedy, you are sinning. Why? Because your actions and conduct believe that man is greater, and you are seeking healing from men and their wisdom, not the Lord.
For this cause and very reason is why Yehowah was upset with King Asa, because he did not go to prophets like Elisha but to the physicians. For it says,
11 The events of Asa's reign, from beginning to end, are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was
severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD, but only from the physicians.
Don't you see how the narrator writes it? He is writing in a style and language that forbids it.
Pharmakos, in biblical days, did not mean "poisons" or LSD, crack, or stuff that altered the mind; else John would have written it out better or written things in greater detail. For he could have easily written, "Do not take 'pharmacy' for the purposes of altering the mind." No, the pharmacy that is being talked about is what the Greek's brought in through their culture and Hellenism. In the days of John, "pharmacy", was for the health and well being of the person - not for his undoing, Ma'am.
Furthermore, do you ONLY accept the "bible" for things of history versus non-biblical things? Did you know that there are things of archeology from Hezekiah's time that survived? Hezekiah built a tunnel so that the King of Assyria would not find water in the land, after/or at that same time Hezekiah clogged up all the springs of the land with rocks. This tunnel channeled water into the city of Jerusalem so that they could survive. Nowhere in scripture is it written what was said and what occurred in those days; yet, if you go to this tunnel you can see an ancient Hebrew inscription by the people of that by-gone era. That being said, thus, making myself 'credible', oral histories were handed down about him. Eventually, some of those things were written by Josephus and a man named "Judah" or "Judah ha-Nasi I". In Judah's writings, he writes that not only does Hezekiah destroy the bronze serpent that Moses made in the wilderness because the Israelites had been worshiping it for some time (which is backed up in 2 Kings 18:4), but that he also got rid of "the book of remedies". You are highly mistaken about medicine and the Greek word, 'Pharmakos', and early church history.
Non-Jews do not understand the "ins and outs" of the Tanach and they, therefore, translate words according to their own beliefs, else they will not be able to live with themselves. Therefore, when we come across the word "Pharmakos" in Rev 22:15 the Strong's Concordance translates it like this:
1. from pharmakon (a drug, i.e., spell-giving potion)
2. one who prepares or uses magical remedies
3. pertaining to magical arts
The history of drugs, i.e., remedies/medicine is based in every culture in that people wanted to get better from illnesses and sicknesses. Much of the dispensing of these 'potions' were integrated within the worship of whatever deity or goddess that was worshipped/served in those societies, in hopes that their deity or goddess would heal them. This is why the staff of the god Mercury is commonly used on medical stuff, (i.e., letter headings, ambulances, hospital logos and...). This symbol is the caduceus. It is used because that is what this thing represents in Greek and Roman mythology. Coincidentally enough, pagan 'Christians' that believe in medicine and who do not know Judaism, nor the writings of the apostles change the Mercury staff into a similar symbol, the bronze serpent on a staff that Moses made, so as to not associate with pagans or Greek mythologies. The practice of ancient pharmakos
is modern herbal medicine and even holistic medicine; this is because they did not have synthetics back then. In biblical Judaism (not modern or liberal Judaism), however, though we condemn the practice of dispensing remedies and all forms of medicine and vitamins as well, the Levitical priests, nonetheless, were required to understand what
particular skin problems were. This was done so that they could keep all people in check, whether those people be 'clean' or 'unclean'. Those that were deemed 'unclean' were to remain outside the camp or city so that others would not become 'unclean.' Sicknesses, plagues, and diseases was brought upon people because of their sin, for breaking the covenant in some area, according to the God of Israel Himself and His prophets that spoke in His name, (i.e., Ex 15, "There the LORD made a decree and a law for them, and there He tested them. 26 He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you").. This also goes for sudden death or an event or tragedy that resulted in one's death without that person ever saying, 'good-bye' to loved ones. When a righteous man did become ill, it was merely a sign for him to prepare for his death that was soon coming. This was done so that he could say 'good bye' to loved ones and get things in order; as was the case with King David and Elisha. For in Judaism, because we serve a true and living God, not a fake one - like a trinity god, Allah, or Zeus, if we do not keep His commandments He will strike us at will during that time, if He so desires that is. For He has the right to do such things according to the law that He put in place, which is still in effect to this day. This is why it is said, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the God of Israel." For if one is offensive to the Lord, and thus He strikes that person, what good is it to eat only such and such? Food is not for health. Granted, excess of certain foods can make you feel groggy and other foods can give you a burst of strength. Even Solomon said, "honey is sweet, eat too much of it - you will vomit." Food is also to sustain life, it does not grant 'health.' Thus, Judaism teaches, (not modern Judaism either, but Biblical Judaism) that food is strictly for strength, flavor/taste and for sustaining life, not for health. Health is strictly based on one's walk. But, like I said, just because a sinner lives a long time, does not mean they are not cursed or will not always remain in that state. Read Psalm 73. In this Psalm we see that the writer was grieved over the 'fatness' of the wicked; yet, he soon cheered up when he realized that their end will be hell. Remember this one fact, the health of a real righteous man is always perfect, for he keeps the Torah. Thus, he does not get sick. If he does get sick, it is a sign for him to find out what he is sinning in/doing wrong and then repent of it and start doing the required law that he was missing. The health of those who do not keep it is determined by what the Lord wants to do with them, possibly nothing - as far as appearance goes with their 'health.'
This is the very reason Job was upset over what occurred to him, because he was in fact righteous. He even says, "But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God," because of how confident he was of his own righteousness. He was in fact righteous. Ignorant church goers that get sick use this story of Job, but if they knew anything they would know that they are uneducated and are sinners, whereas Job was not. What many people do not realize is that Job lived before Moses. Therefore, before the covenant was made with mankind, (and not just us Israelites), on Mt Sinai. For that covenant says, 'this law is for you and the alien alike.'
For this is what Moses said, "It was not with our fathers that the LORD made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today (Deut 5:3)." Thus saying, what occurred to Job shall never occur again to a real righteous man from that point on.
Moving on:
Our culture here in the United States is based on Roman and Greek Culture, not Judeo-Christian culture. For if it were based on Judeo-Christian ways, this culture would have a different calendar, there would be no sports arenas, no amphitheaters, and especially no medicine / pharmacies, no ..... and our government would be a theocratic government, not a republic with a senate - where people vote. So don't deceive yourself like so many do. Granted, this culture has Judeo-Christian aspects in it, but it is not Judeo.
Shalom,
Maregaal Yaakov
