The Tanach gives ample proof that the Torah we have today was not written by Moses, but after or during the time of Samuel the prophet. The proof lies within these particular verses of 1 Samuel 9:6-9....
6 But the servant replied, "Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is
highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let's go there now.
Maybe he will tell us what way to take."
7 Saul said to his servant, "If we go, what can we give the man? The food in
our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God. What do we
have?"
8 The servant answered him again. "Look," he said, "I have a quarter of a shekel
of silver. I will give it to the man of God so that he will tell us what way to take."
9 (Formerly in Israel, if a man went to inquire of God, he would say, "Come, let
us go to the seer," because the prophet of today used to be called a seer.)
Because this passage found in Samuel says that a prophet used to be called a "seer" in the days of Samuel the prophet, this exposes some time frame of when our current torah was written. This is because our current torah is littered with the word "prophet." Let me give some examples.
Genesis 20:7,
"Now return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will
live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all yours will die."
Exodus 15:20
Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all
the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing.
Numbers 12:6
he said, "Listen to my words: "When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal
myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.
Deuteronomy 13:1
If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you
We can see, therefore, that it wouldn't be possible for the Torah to be written long after the death of Moses, even up to Samuel or possibly afterwards. This would also include the book of Judges, for the word "prophet" also appears in this book as well. Let me show you:
Judges 6:8
he sent them a prophet, who said, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I
brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
It is pretty clear that the book of Judges was written during the days of Samuel or some time after this. The current Torah, however, gives more evidence that it was written down after 850 BCE, not between 1504-1464 BCE. or from the exodus to Moses' death. To see this evidence, please read this following page:
Therefore, the real law of Moses and any written documents from the days of the Judges are lost to history. Besides this, our current font [or alphabet] in our Tanach is not written in Paleo-Hebrew and has not been written this way for a super long time. I say this because
if the real scroll were to pop up somewhere
it would have the this font.
To the right is what the Paleo-Hebrew looks like.
The alphabet on this ancient Hebrew tablet
is a far cry than the alphabet we use today
in Israel and in our Tanach.
We simply want truth to shine. With that being
said, it is not quite accurate to say, the Torah
was written by Moses, nor even from that era.
Now that the truth has been said, we do not
know when the set of books called "the Torah"
have been written, nor by whom.
