Kiff,
Shalom and thank you for your questions, I am more than glad to answer them.
First off, however, I will be frank with you in the content of my letter, so do not look at it as if I am answering with rudeness. One who teaches the truth in this dark world must speak with forthrightness, and in holiness, which will come as a sharp-edged sword piercing through the darkness. Therefore, see for yourself, if even for the first time, if all that I will mention is not backed up in scripture. For the knowledge I shall give you shall save you, if you accept it.
To be blunt, Jewish people would accept Yehoshua / Jesus as their moshiach / messiah / christ if they would simply study the tanach, (what ignorant people call the 'old' testament). But, instead they just skim through it without grasping anything of what it says. What they are doing, however, is exactly what the pupils in the Catholic and protestant (including the SDA church) churches are doing. They are assuming that the preachers therein are correctly testifying and preaching about the real messiah, which they are not doing. For Jesus was a torah-observant Jew that commanded his followers to do the same; that is to turn from their sin and keep the law of Moses to it's very letter. "Do not think that I come to do away with the Law, or the prophets; I did not come to eradicate, but rather do all that they said" ("the Law and the prophets" means strict adherence to the law of the Lord given to Moses that consists of well over 613 commandments, not just 10 to 12, as well as to fulfill the prophecies of the prophets regarding the anointed one, and as well as obeying the word of the Lord that came through them). For I tell to you the truth, unless the heavens and earth perish, not a single jot, nor tittle shall ever pass from the law, (meaning: the law of Moses and the words of the prophets). not until all therein be fulfilled (This occurs on, or soon after the moment and second of judgment, as far as prophesies go in regards to the modern state of affairs and its requirements. For it is finally at that time that much of the law will be done away with. ( to see notes on this click here )) This is not what the Catholic and protestant churches preach. In reality, they are not speaking about Jesus, the man of history. For these wicked preachers teach that there is a Trinity, and so make Jesus into someone he's not. They teach that he is 'God', versus simply being a made being (to learn the truth of Jesus and that the Trinity is a pagan belief, click here). Also, they preach that you are saved by grace, versus by holiness and righteousness. Therefore, because of this, they also teach that the law has been done away with. However, SDA's teach the truth about which day the sabbath truly is; but what is the point? For they do not keep it at all, they simply remember it, and that is about the extent of their religion. Everything else about the SDA faith is virtually false, (Click here to see a letter I wrote to AmazingFacts.com, rebuking them), except for some moral commands, thanks to Paul the false apostle, (click here to see why he is a false apostle). So, to answer your question, that is the real reason why Jews do not not except Jesus as their messiah.
I also have a paper on this website that is copied from a Jewish orthodox website, so you can see for yourself (here) all that I said about my fellow Jews is true. For you will see in their own words why they do not accept Jesus. Most people lack discernment, but if you have any while reading this article, you can clearly see they are not pointing to any scripture but rather to preachers. Thus, when they do such and then inline that with their own Torah, you can see the great contradiction and problem they have with so-called 'Christians' and their Christ, which is not the same christ that is talked about and prophesied about in the Torah, and the prophets. Even if you read the gospels, like Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus is portrayed as a sinner as well as the priests, (for those that can actually read, versus those people that just believe things blindly to anything that comes down the pipeline (here is an example)). For the Messiah of the Torah and the prophets is not God, nor is a part of God, thus there is no "Trinity". The Messiah of the Torah is a man that is like all the prophets that will proceed him. He draws people into a strict adherence to the Torah, in order for them to become the people of the Lord God. He proves he is that prophet by signs and wonders that are greater than Moses and the other prophets. The Messiah of the prophets comes from the land, and ancestral line of Judah. He is from the line of one of the royal children starting with David to Solomon, down to Hezekiah to Josiah.
If one had to find out who the Messiah is, it might be pretty hard to determine. This is because there were many children of Josiah and of his sons, and many of them were born in Bethlehem. But what occurs if you are simply born in Bethlehem, but are actually raised in the ancient northern kingdom called "the kingdom of Israel", instead of in the southern kingdom called, "the kingdom of Judah"? Likewise, how much more harder is it to determine who he is if there are thousands of devout torah-observant men? This is why they thought John might be the 'anointed one.' This is because he was a prophet, he was torah-observant and he was in Judah. Whereas, at the first glance of Jesus/Yehoshua, he did not fit the profile of the Messiah prophecies, regardless of his miracles, because he was in the Northern Kingdom at Galilee. This is why he was crucified in the first place, because they looked at Jesus with that very 'first glance.' For yes, he did miracles like Moses and the other prophets before him, he was torah- observant and told his followers to be the same way. Like in Matthew 23 he says, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’seat. Therefore, whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do." Then in the following story you can see the same, "As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. He asked, '....what must I do to inherit eternal life?' Jesus replied, 'If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.'" Notice he does not say, "Just believe in me and that I am sent from my Father that is in heaven."That however, is a requirement of the standard, but it is not the standard alone, as so many 'so called followers of Jesus / Christians' think. This is also why we see Jesus condemning to hell those people that do believe in him, in the prophecy he gives about the day of judgment. Here is what Jesus says in Matthew 7, '"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will (the commandments, not talents for someone's life work) of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you who are without the law / workers of iniquity!'' For a man cannot perform any of these miracles in Jesus' name unless that person was a believer, thus meaning you are not saved by grace, but by what the judge of all the earth said, by "obeying the commandments." For in the past the Lord never made a covenant with sinners, not once, but with those whose walk was blameless and upright. Thus, in like manner, he will not allow a sinner to enter his kingdom and presence, but only those whose walk is righteous.
For when Jesus and the prophets, like Jonah, call sinners to repentance, what does that mean? It first means that he who heareth must first be educated in the law of the Lord, and if his walk is against that law he is a sinner. So, when one comes to repentance one says, 'sorry' and then must start walking in accordance to that Law. If not, the 'sorry' means nothing, because they are still sinning. So, if people are never taught the law of the Lord in their synagogue or church which consists of well over 613 commandments, versus just 10 to 12 commandments, all of those people will go to hell. Because if you do not know the Law it is pretty hard to keep it. Thus, the saying is true, "My people die for lack of understanding." Thus, Kiff I am calling you and all else to repentance.
I hope I answered your questions.
I did answer your question in this letter about the 'signs' the Jewish people are looking for in the coming messiah, (who has already come), that will be born among them. But I will be glad to summarize it for you:
1: a torah-observant Jew, thus not simply any Jew
2. must be born in Israel, namely Bethlehem
3. must be a miracle worker, as Moses was
4. He must draw us to holiness through the Torah / instructions of the Lord
5. He will be of the line of David somehow, if that can even be proven because of the
lost records of people's genealogies over the years, especially 3,000 years worth
6. He will conquer the earth, and so he alone will be ruler over all the earth
7. Because of #6, he will deliver his people forever from the yoke of their enemies,
which actually means he will slay them all, or cast them all into prison. Which, only
then would give the people peace and rest from all sides forever. Thus....
8. ....there will finally be peace on earth, because those enemies did not either submit to his
lordship and rule, and so were cast into a prison (for us that know the truth, this means
hell), or these enemies actually converted to Judaism and so come under his rod of rule.
Praise be Yehowah (hallu-yah) the God of Israel, and his son whom He has made, that sits as prince at His right hand. This Prince will soon rule, he loves uprightness and justice. Those whose paths that are not in accordance with the direction Yehowah laid out for them at Sinai will not enter His son's kingdom, but will be thrown into a fiery prison called the Lake of Fire. There they will be awake, and look on in torment in the fire forever as His saints enjoy the peace given to them, because of their faithfulness to their God and His anointed one.
Shalom,
Maregaal
Notes:
When Jesus says in Matthew 5:
Do not think that I come to do away with the Law, or the prophets; I did not come to eradicate, but bring into fruition all that they predicted. For I tell to you the truth, unless these heavens and earth perish, not a single jot, nor tittle shall ever pass from the law. Not until all therein be fulfilled.
Matthew 5 This is referring to the time when he shall judge all men, for at that time much of the laws will be done away with. Like, the laws of marriage and family, laws regarding touching a corpse, since the resurrection will have taken place and people will never die again. Laws regarding leprosy, since the righteous will be free from all plagues. Laws regarding tithing, festivals and feasts, even the sabbath. Laws regarding war, laws regarding cattle raising. Laws regarding capital offenses and.... thus it is only at that time when much of the law will be done away with, not now, nor during the time of Jesus' death as Paul mentions falsely. For, this wicked person taught that the law was nailed to the cross, thus meaning it to was laid down.
