Did you know that if the messiah were to stand in front of you, you would have no idea that he was the messiah? For even John the Baptist did not know who he was. That's right folks. Not even John knew who he was until after he baptized him. For the Lord commanded John to baptize people in the name of the Lord. For the Lord told him, (paraphrased from John's words), "I will give you this sign to give to the people: For a long time you have been waiting for the promised messiah, yet he has not appeared. However, as surely as the Lord lives, you will wait no longer. At my watch, and by my hand, I will reveal him to the world through this baptism. For when I do so, the Spirit of his Father, the Eternal one, will rest upon him. For He let me know, 'The one whom you see My spirit rest on, this is he.' After that point, you must follow him, and believe in him, and do all that he tells you."
So it was. As John waited everyday himself, so did his disciples and the crowds, to see whom this person might be. While he and the other people waited earnestly, John constantly said to the people, "There stands among you one of whose sandals I am not worthy to unlatch. He is greater than I, because he was before me."
The reason for this lack of knowledge of whom this 'promised one' might be is because if the people were all torah observant like the Pharisees, and more so John's disciples, he would have blended among them quite well. This is because he too is, and must have been, torah observant.
When John did eventually baptize him in the Jordan River, not knowing who he was, he then saw a dove come down from the sky and land upon him. It is also said at that time that the Father uttered these words, "This is My son." Then John knew this was he. After that point, John said, "Behold!!!! The lamb of HaShem (not the Passover lamb, as some ignorant preachers think, because Passover has nothing to do with sin,) that takes away the sin of the world (John is referring to the lamb of the sin offering in Leviticus 4:32-35, read it here)."
This event apparently took place soon after John came on the scene, like just in a few months. Read the facts about this here.
So, what are some of the commandments we see Yehoshua actually doing versus, just knowing he did all of them? They are:
1. He constantly rebuked the Pharisees and Scribes for "adding to" the law, by their traditions.
2. In Matthew 23:1-3, we see Jesus observing the command of telling his disciples to follow all of the Law of
Moses.
3. In Matthew 23:5, we see Jesus commanding men to wear Phylacteries, but to not make them too wide,
like the Pharisees did.
4. In Matthew 23:5, we see Jesus commanding people to wear tassels on the corners of their garments, just
not too long, as the Pharisees did.
5. In Matthew 23, we see Jesus commanding people to be humble in all areas, and not just at meals, by
not taking the best seat in the house.
6. In Matthew 23:23, we see Jesus commanding people to tithe their produce and crops.
7. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus commands people to obey all of the law, every aspect of the Torah.
8. He commands everyone to have a pure heart with holy motives, Matthew 23.
9. He commands that you must not put the innocent and the righteous to death, like the prophets, Matthew
23.
10. Matthew 24:20, Jesus commands everyone to observe the sabbath to the very end of the age.
11. Matthew 5:18-19, He commands his followers to observe the Torah to the end of the age and anyone
that does not do so shall be condemned, or so "called the least in the kingdom." Thus, also teaching
the Torah lasts forever, unlike what that wicked Paul said, "it was nailed to the tree/cross, and you are
saved by grace."
12. Matthew 5:12, He commanded his followers to not just not commit murder, but also, not to hate your
brother.
13. Matthew 5:27, He commanded his followers to not just not commit adultery, but also not to covet your
neighbor's wife.
14. Matthew 5:31, He commanded the people to never divorce, unless the reason is strictly for adultery,
homosexuality, bestiality, or incest.
15. Matthew 5:33, Jesus commanded the people not to take oaths anymore, but simply be honest.
16. Matthew 5:38, Jesus commanded the people not to take revenge against those that use you or rob you,
but in fact, do what your enemy desires and more (within limits).
17. Matthew 5:43, He commands that you understand that pagans are ignorant and need your light, love,
and prayers. Thus, whatever evil they might do to you, you need to understand that it might come.
18. Matthew 6:1, give alms quietly and humbly so that no one knows you are doing such.
19. Matthew 6, fast correctly.
20. Matthew 6:25, trust in the Lord, and not in yourself.
21. Matthew 7, judge people with integrity and holiness, instead of with hypocrisy.
22. Matthew 7, Do what is right in the Lord's sight by obeying His commandments.
23. Matthew 8:4, when a leprous man became clean he commanded him to offer up the sacrifices in
Leviticus 14 at the Temple, click here to read.
24. Matthew 8:18, You must obey the Lord first and foremost, no matter what that cost might be.
25. Matthew 9:35, preach the good news of Jesus and the Torah to the lost, and so bring them into the
kingdom.
26. Matthew 10:1-8, Jesus commanded his followers to heal the sick, cast out demons from people, raise
the dead, and preach that the kingdom of the Lord is at hand, or fast approaching. Likewise, he
commanded not to take money, or things for preaching.
27. Matthew 10, Jesus commanded his disciples not to wait on unbelievers to follow you, either they
will, or they won't. If they do not accept you, then don't hesitate in shaking the dust from off your feet,
and condemning them, and then moving on to the next town, place, or person. Remember, that he said
if they reject you, they reject him, and so also reject the One that sent him. This is all based on if the
witness is truly the Lord's or not, and not a messenger of Paul, or some other reprobate, or church of
pagans.
28. In John 7, we see Jesus observing the Feast of Tabernacles. Thus, obeying several dozen
commandments in the Torah. Like, "He appeared before the LORD three times a year." He made
a booth for himself, since he was a native. He came to the altar with palm fronds, and other things.
He kept himself clean, thus, staying away from corpses, and women that were menstrually impure.
29. In Matthew 15:4 and Mark 7:9-10, we see that Jesus calls for strict obedience to the torah in whole, but
points out two commandments in his example to the Pharisees that a child must always honor his/her
parents and those children that curse their parents must be put to death.
And............. all the rest.
THIS IS ALL I HAVE SO FAR ON THIS PAGE, THERE ARE, HOWEVER, SEVERAL DOZEN MORE WE CAN SEE HIM OBSERVING VS. JUST KNOWING HE DID THEM ALL.
Lets look at some particular verses, for a moment:
Matthew 5
17 Do not think that I have come abolish the Law or the Prophets;
I have not come abolish them but to bring into fruition what is foretold therein.
18 I tell you the truth, unless the heavens and earth disappear, not even the smallest letter, nor the least
stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until all therein comes into fruition (or fulfilled,
Meaning: until all the prophecies that the law predicts, as well as all what the prophets have predicted
take place, the Torah will never cease to exist (thus, outright contradicting Paul's teaching). For
when the resurrection and the judgment take place, people will no longer die; thus, all the laws
concerning death will finally be done away with. At the same time marriage will be done away with; thus,
the laws surrounding marriage will be done away with. Likewise, all the commands regarding leprosy will
be done away with, because all saints will be made whole. All the capital offense laws and statutes will
be done away with because the wicked will be alive in hell and after the resurrection people will not die
again, nor can't die again. Slavery laws will be done away with, because at the resurrection every saint
will be free, while sinners will be in the fiery prison of the Prince of Peace. Many other commandments
will also be done away with at that time, but not before. Thus, a large bulk of the commandments will be
done away with at that time, yet not all of them ofcourse. Commands regarding love, pride, hatred,
worshiping others, and many, many others will remain intact.)
19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be
called least in the kingdom of heaven (Meaning: they are rebels and thus he is referring to hypocrites.
Such folks have no part in the kingdom, as he points out many times. On top of this, you must realize
that 'hell' is the prison that is a part of this futuristic kingdom, even though it exists outside the
city gates, like gehenna was outside the city walls.), but whoever practices and teaches these
commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven (In other words: having honor, not disgrace as
with the hypocrites. This also teaches that if Jesus desired to sit once again at the right hand of the
Eternal One, then he too must do these things what he just said. Therefore, if a person desires to
worship before their thrones they must do these things, thus showing they must keep the Torah for
salvation verses just believing as sinners teach).
20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the
law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven (What Yehoshua means is this: you first must
have an education in the Torah, like the Pharisees and the instructors of the law, in order to obey the
Torah, for you cannot obey or observe something if you are not aware of it. Likewise, that you actually
obey what is taught therein, unlike them where they did not practice what they taught and preached.
Thus, in truth, Yehoshua was praising them for their education in the law, but denounced them for their
hypocrisy and their lack of observance to it. This is why all, literally all, people that follow Paul's lead that
taught the torah is done away with and thus observe it not, are just plain lost and shall be tossed into hell
on the day of the great and dreadful judgment, as well as all those that do not ever acknowledge that
Yehoshua is the Jewish messiah and the very son of the God of Heaven. Yehoshua is not the God of
Israel, all those that believe such will also go to hell).
