Who wrote the Bible and why?

Shalom and hello my friends,
We wrote the bible, my very own ancestors wrote these things down.
I am Jewish and our holy prophets wrote things down.
One of the main reasons for writing our cultural heritage down is so that it could be passed on to our children. Our culture was a theocracy, a government and society ruled by the very laws of heaven. Unlike man's rules, where many of those things only have consequences in man's eyes, our laws not only do the same, but also have consequences in the eyes of heaven. In our by-gone history many things where lost, yet passed down by word of mouth. The law of Moses was lost, for what we have now was written sometime in the 7th century BCE. Our Temple is gone, our Theocracy is gone, but not our hope. This is because HaShem lives forever and can and shall raise again prophets to restore all things. Likewise, He has a forever covenant with the descendants of Abraham, because Abraham kept the statutes and laws of HaShem [See Gen 26].
At the very beginning, Adam was to train his children in the ways of HaShem. Regardless of transgressing the one time that is mentioned in the land of Eden, in modern day Iraq, he was granted mercy after he gave an atonement offering for that sin. We know this because this is how the Lord clothed him "with garments of skin" in Genesis.
After his forgiveness, he still had to deal with his just consequences, being kicked out from Eden and not having a means to escape death, where he was going to die anyways, but the tree of life gave him the opt out. But he lost that opportunity after he sinned agaist HaShem, for the cherubim kept him from grabbing any of the fruit to the tree of life.
Regardless of this, even after being forgiven and now blameless once again, he still had to raise his children in righteousness by all the commandments of HaShem. When Cain built the first city-state "Enosh" that city was a theocracy under the laws of HaShem. Cain, however, sometime before this fell into revenge and sinned by murdering a saint. But even he was forgiven. Nonetheless, people by their own free will sinned, so much so that HaShem raised up a prophet named Noach or Noah. For 120 years he prophecied in the same manner as Jonah did to Nineveh, if they did not repent and start following the ways of HaShem's commandments HaShem would slay them all by water. They simply laughed and mocked. In the end, only Noah and his immediate family were saved, 8 in all out of the whole entire earth. With this new generation, a mighty prophet was their guide, that being Noach. All his stories were lost, all his words and commandments were lost except for the small few that we have from the 7th century BCE found in our book called "Genesis." Noach taught them well, but even his descendants did not cling to his voice for long because of their own free will and their love to pursue other desires, rather than the things of HaShem. Well, while Noach was still alive another man was born, this man was our ancestor named Abraham. He did not have great beginnings, for he grew up in an idolator's house, that being Terah's house. Our current writings don't say how he came out of idolatry, nor do our existing oral traditions, but I'm sure our lost libraries did. For it was because of him and his holiness and righteousness, that HaShem, Abraham's God made a personal covenant with him and with his descendants forever, no matter what and that through him would come kings and princes and mighty men and lastly the holy messiah. After this, Abraham did what Adam did, and Noach, this time however his sons kept the parent's words. With that HaShem confirmed the covenant with Abraham to Issac and Jacob and gave the promise of the moshiach or messiah through Judah's literal seed and not by a virgin girl as the gospels promote. Abraham kept the statutes, laws and commandments of HaShem.
After Joseph was sold into Egypt, the Israelites soon became tainted with the idolatry of the Eqyptians, even though Yehowah was served to a certain extent as well. Thus, they fell away from the walk of the great and lovely prophet Abraham. Abraham had things written down, just like Moses had the 10 commandments written down, with the other 2000 plus commandments, but these were all lost in time, except what we have today. Maybe someday they will be found once again. Well, after the Israelites left Egypt, HaShem had to bring them back to the same path that Abraham knew, thus he raised Moses. And even before Moses reached Mt. Sinai HaShem taught the people His ways through Moses as we see in Exodus 18:26.
Thus, to answer your question
This was all written because this is the very will of HaShem for all our lives, this shows the very character of HaShem and this is the path to holiness in His eyes and without holiness no one will see HaShem.
The prophets teach that when the holy moshiach comes, that on the very day that he judges, he will use these very commandments that the holy prophets uttered. Thus, all those that fail to do them shall and will go to hell. For this is what the mighty prophet said in Psalm 119:155,
"Salvation [is] far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes."
These things were written for our lineage, heritage and righteousness and salvation!!! And this is for all people because Israel must be a light unto the nations.

Where in the bible does it say that gay people cannot get married?
And I don't mean the verses that say it's an abomination. Those don't count because fornicators, idolaters, liars, adulterers, and abusers of themselves are all abominations in the sight of the Lord, and he'll let those people get married.
And whether you like it or not, unless you're christ you probably fall into one of those categories, but you can probably get married. So, where does it condemn gay marriage?

Mike, I completely understand the Mormon perspective.
I was mostly referring to those Christians who think all the answers are in the bible. They don't have revelation from living prophets. :)
Ma-am,
I am an orthodox Jewish man. I cannot tell if your question is a test or a sincere question. If it is a sincere question, then I would say that you do not have a basic knowledge of the our Tanach or our "Jewish Scriptures."
Let's correct you in all areas of your question, then I will answer you. First off, all areas that you just mentioned are evil in the sight of HaShem, the God of Israel. But "fornicators" are not given the "death" penalty in the law of Moses or our Torah as many false preachers assume and thousands of laymen think. No, fornicators are obligated to become husband and wife, unless the male parent absolutely refuses, where the daughters in our Torah Observant society, a theocracy, were subject to their parents, so the same with the sons. For here is what is written,
"If a man find a damsel [that is] a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days [Deut 22:28-29]." This is intercourse through rape.
In most cases the male parent would not let his daughter be with such a violent man, so the daughter did not have to worry all that much about being married to him.
But, this is what Exodus 22:17-18 says, "And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins." This form of intercourse was mutual, meaning, the man and the woman knew each other. In many of these cases, which was extremely rare, unlike today, the male parent would let his daughter marry the man.
In all cases of adultery, however, on the basis of two or more witnesses, the man (married or single) that has intercourse with another man's wife, both of them shall die. The only other example that a betrothed woman and other man would not be put to death is if the woman was a slave still and not yet given her freedom. For this is what it says in Lev 19:20-22, "And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that [is] a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, [even] a ram for a trespass offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
The only way a woman fornicator was put to death is if she lied to the man she was getting married to by saying she was a virgin, yet was not. For this is what the Torah says in Deut 22, "If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth [the tokens of] the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech [against her], saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these [are the tokens of] my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; And they shall amerce him in an hundred [shekels] of silver, and give [them] unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days. But if this thing be true, [and the tokens of] virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."
The same goes if a priest's daughter acts like a prostitute by fornicating, she shall be stoned to death and her corpse must be burned in the fire (Lev 21:9).
However, all manners of homosexual activity shall be judged with death, thus if this equals a death penality, then it is very clear they must never become married!!!! For here is the famous verse in Leviticus 20:13, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them."
These are the words of our holy prophets that have been spread throughout the world. The words of the prophets are theeeee words of the God of Israel.
